Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need a home inspection?
If you know everything about your homes like HVAC, plumbing, electricity, attic and ventilation, crawlspace, roof and ventilation, appliances, flooring, and foundation with an eye to know what is safe and secure, then you probably don't need a home inspection. If you aren't sure, then we are the team you need.

Do I need a home inspection on a new build?
You would be surprised how much is not done or done incorrectly on new builds. We have found things like missing shingles and broken vent pipes on roofs, active water leaks in ceilings, even the insulation missing in an attic. Getting a home inspection on a new build is a very wise choice. With a new home inspection, at very little cost, we come back in 11 months to do another inspection to see if there is anything that needs to be done before the warranty runs out.

Do I need to be there when you do the inspection?
Typically, a home inspection lasts two to three hours. We like to have you join us at the end of the inspection to get a firsthand explanation of our findings. Any problems we discover will make more sense if you see them in person instead of relying solely on the photos in the report and we like to take the opportunity to educate you on the intricacies of your potential home.

When and how do I receive my report?
Hoffman Home Inspections prides ourselves on doing same-day reporting, oftentimes within a couple of hours after the inspection. We email the interactive, detailed report to you where you and your agent can go through and create a request list. This saves time and hassle.

What To Expect During an Inspection

Hoffman Home Inspections will thoroughly inspect the entire property both inside and outside as well as the components of the home like electrical and plumbing. As we inspect the home, we will create a detailed report of our findings which we will email to you so that you can review it with your realtor.

Although it would be impossible to predict any potential problems with a property, we will provide you with as much information as possible to help you make a good decision about purchasing a home. You can trust us to be on your side as we identify issues that could be costly down the line.

Testimonial

"James did a terrific job on the inspection. It was very detailed, with precise photos of everything that needed to be fixed, which allowed the builder to easily correct any outstanding issues. And the final report to the builder was well organized and easy to follow. And all for a great price."
